Mechanical Series

Monocarrier is a standard-setting product developed to meet accelerating industry needs for labor saving, energy conservation and factory automation.The landmark multifunctional actuator dramatically reduces design and assembly loads due to the unique construction of the Monocarrier, which was developed as a key component for automation device mechanical parts.

NSK K1 is applied to the Monocarrier guide and ball screw parts. In combination with grease, the MCM series meets demand for long-term and maintenance-free operation. It incorporates porous synthetic resin, a newly developed material which retains a generous volume of lubricating oil; the continuous release of oil reinforces overall lubricating performance. In addition, the maintenance free NSK K1® lubrication unit is equipped as a standard feature and surface-treatment is included in standard specifications.

Production systems adopting integrated automation devices are currently coming in line in every area of the industry. This production system is well suited for a variety of applications, including automatic assembly, inspection, packaging and transportation and will be further promoted.

Monocarrier was developed as a key component of automation device mechanical parts, the core of this production system.   • Excellent corrosion resistance capability: Low-temperature black chrome plating on rail and slider as a standard feature prevents corrosion under ordinary storage and usage conditions.Ideal for FA lines.

Combining these four parts brings considerable savings in man-hours for design and time and effort for installation. (Installation dimensions are identical to the existing Monocarrier.)

  • High rigidity: Although light in weight, the main base is concave to resist bending, and can be handled even with cantilever support. Elastic deformation of the linear guide bearing is small due to preload.
  • Longer operating life: Rolling bearings contribute to less wear and longer operation.
  • Smooth movement and high precision: Rolling bearings contribute to less friction and higher positioning accuracy.
  • Four-directional iso-load: Contact angle of guide bearing is set at 45° to provide equivalent support for vertical and lateral loads.

This new product brings powerful features to the unparalleled Maintenance-free Series Monocarrier, a series which resulted from NSK’s extensive development efforts. Monocarriers are light, compact single axis actuators combining ball screws, linear guides, and supporting bearings.

In addition to simplified design and installation, MCH Monocarriers feature improved rigidity, making them suitable for cantilever beams. Furthermore, the long-term, maintenance-free NSK K1® lubrication units are built-in as a standard feature, preventing oil contamination of the operating environment.

MCH Monocarriers represent an important new addition to the MCM series, providing users with diverse functionality for systems solutions.

  • Enhanced rail rigidity: While MCM predecessors focused on light weight, MCH Monocarriers provide improved rail rigidity, which is now available for cantilever beams. MCH Monocarriers are three to eight times more rigid than conventional products agains vertical load.
  • Long-term, maintenance-free usage: The combined use of the NSK K1 with grease maintains long-term operating efficiency in mechanical environments where lubrication is difficult to apply.
  • Preventing oil contamination of operating environment: Using NSK K1 with minimal grease ensures sufficient lubrication, even in oil-sensitive locations and in mechanical facilities with sever hygienic restrictions.
  • Excellent corrosion resistance: Low-temperature black chrome treatment on rail and slider as a standard feature prevents corrosion under ordinary storage and usage conditions. Optional low-temperature chrome flouride treatment further improves anti-corrosion properties.
  • LED-hall element equipped sensors: The incorporation of LED into NSK's compact, original hall element type sensor facilitates performance verification. The adoption of an exclusive sensor rail allows sensors to be freely mounted at any position.
  • Simplified design and installation: Rail, ball screws, and support bearings are fully integrated into a single unit to dramatically reduce the time and effort required for design and installation. In addition, standard Shell AV2 grease is prepacked for shipment so that MCH Monocarriers are ready to operate after a break-in period.
  • Enhanced dust-proof capability: Upper seals are mounted as a standard addition to conventional side seals, preventing the entrance of foreign matter from the upper side.

The Megatorque Motor produces high torque and enables a load directly coupled with the motor to be driven without using a reduction gear.

  • Direct Drive

    Each motor has a built-in rotation position detector enabling it to form a fully closed loop servo.

  • High Rotational Positioning Accuracy

    The Megatorque motor has a high resolution resolver featuring 614400 pulses/revolution (except for the RS series 4"motor, SS Series Motor and JS0002FN001 in JS Series). The megatorque Motor can drive a directly coupled load without using reduction gears, featuring repeatability of ±2.1arc seconds for a rigid load. (The repeatability of the 4"Megatorquemotor and JS0002FN001 is ±3.2arc seconds, and that of SS Series motor is ±2.7arc seconds.)

  • High Rate of Acceleration and Reduced Cycle Time

    High torque allows quick acceleration and deceleration, resulting in reduced cycle time.

  • High Reliability

    Simple structure of a brushless motor with no permanent magnet and the use of a high performance, rigid, grease filled bearing offer high reliability and maintenance free operation.

  • High Rigidity

  • A heavy duty crossed roller bearing allows robot arms or other heavy loads to be directly coupled with the rotor without using external support bearings. As reduction gears are unnecessary, a simple mechanism can be achieved.

  • Hollow Structure

    The motor has hollow space on the center part for wiring and plumbing.

  • Variety of Selections

    In addition to the standard product type, a wide variety of products are available such as Waterproof motor type, Motors with brakes, Absolute Positioning type, Precision Motor type, SS Series, economical YS Motor Series and compact JS Series.

Special Driver Units:

  • Precision and multi-function digital servo:

    The EM, high power EP and ESA driver units, which drive and control Megatorque motors, incorporate a 16-bit microprocessor for complete digital servo control. It features a vatiety of functions providing a high performance, multifunction and easy-to-use controller. Especially the compact ESA driver unit has a built-in autotuning function to select the optismum senvo gain for the load.

  • Variety of Command Inputs:

    The driver units have a variety of I/O interfaces for connection with personal computers, NC machines, Programmable logic controllers(PLC), etc. It can accept a variety of input commands issued by the user (such as BCD serial signals,pulse train signals, RS-232C communication commands, andso forth).

  • Easy and Variety of Operations:

    Position, velocity and torque mode selection and writing of parameters and programs may be executed in real time through the RS-232C interface. The use of the program execution method allows positioning without user 's controller.

  • Easy maintenance:

    An error indicator LED on the front panel allows easy operation check. The I/O and alarm status may be read out through the RS-232C interface.

  • Compact reliable special IC's and multi-layer boards are used for down-sizing and improved reliability of the driver unit.
  • Various Options:

    Available in a wide selection of options such as driver units for Absolute Positioning type, EM Super Series with electronic cams, memory cards and single-axis NC control functions, etc.
