Passivation Machine
Project Keys:
- An obsolete PLC was replaced with a rack style PLC and LCD operator interface
- The new PLC makes extensive use of timing and discrete I/O to keep track of multiple, independent batches processed by the machine
- A Quadrature Encoder was added, replacing 9 switches, providing improved machine control sequence, reliable throughput and drum placement accuracy
- This machine was schedule for replacement with a new larger unit to meet the customers growing demands, the upgrade now allows it to operate with capacity to spare
CNC Control System/Retrofit
Project Keys:
- Three axis CNC control system
- PC based Open Control format running on standard Windows
- Real time control handled by the embedded motion control card
- 3 axis of digital brushless servo for smooth speed, and high resolution position control
- Typical CNC operator panel, including feed rate overrides, and hand wheel encoder
