PMAC Motion Controller

PMAC, pronounced “Pe'-MAC”, stands for Programmable Multi- Axis Controller. It is a family of high-performance servo motion controllers capable of commanding up to 32 axes of motion simultaneously with a high level of sophistication. PMAC is provided with several bus formats, different number of axes and with the appropriate amplifier command signals for virtually any kind of motion control application.

The following is a partial list of the PMAC family main features. Some features require the addition of options and external accessory boards. Many diverse interchangeable and built-in CPU boards are also available to provide a huge dynamic range for the PMAC. PMAC motion programs and PLC programs are the same for any PMAC model; the only programming feature that changes between the models is the configuration setup for each particular board.

Partial list of features:
  • Motorola DSP 56k Digital Signal Processor. CPU options from 20 to 150 MHz
  • Flash, battery-backed and flash\battery on-board memory options
  • From 1 to 32 axes of highly accurate, simultaneous, motion control
  • Analog ±10 Volts, digital PWM or stepper amplifier outputs are supported
