The Megatorque Motor produces high torque and enables a
load directly coupled with the motor to be driven without using
a reduction gear.

- Direct Drive
Each motor has a built-in rotation position detector enabling it to form a fully closed loop servo.
- High Rotational Positioning Accuracy
The Megatorque motor has a high resolution resolver featuring 614400 pulses/revolution (except for the RS series 4"motor, SS Series Motor and JS0002FN001 in JS Series). The megatorque Motor can drive a directly coupled load without using reduction gears, featuring repeatability of ±2.1arc seconds for a rigid load. (The repeatability of the 4"Megatorquemotor and JS0002FN001 is ±3.2arc seconds, and that of SS Series motor is ±2.7arc seconds.)
- High Rate of Acceleration and Reduced Cycle Time
High torque allows quick acceleration and deceleration, resulting in reduced cycle time.
- High Reliability
Simple structure of a brushless motor with no permanent magnet and the use of a high performance, rigid, grease filled bearing offer high reliability and maintenance free operation.
- High Rigidity
A heavy duty crossed roller bearing allows robot arms or other heavy loads to be directly coupled with the rotor without using external support bearings. As reduction gears are unnecessary, a simple mechanism can be achieved.
- Hollow Structure
The motor has hollow space on the center part for wiring and plumbing.
- Variety of Selections
In addition to the standard product type, a wide variety of products are available such as Waterproof motor type, Motors with brakes, Absolute Positioning type, Precision Motor type, SS Series, economical YS Motor Series and compact JS Series.
- Special Driver Units:
- Precision and multi-function digital servo: The EM, high power EP and ESA driver units, which drive and control Megatorque motors, incorporate a 16-bit microprocessor for complete digital servo control. It features a vatiety of functions providing a high performance, multifunction and easy-to-use controller. Especially the compact ESA driver unit has a built-in autotuning function to select the optismum senvo gain for the load.
- Variety of Command Inputs: The driver units have a variety of I/O interfaces for connection with personal computers, NC machines, Programmable logic controllers(PLC), etc. It can accept a variety of input commands issued by the user (such as BCD serial signals,pulse train signals, RS-232C communication commands, andso forth).
- Easy and Variety of Operations: Position, velocity and torque mode selection and writing of parameters and programs may be executed in real time through the RS-232C interface. The use of the program execution method allows positioning without user 's controller.
- Easy maintenance:An error indicator LED on the front panel allows easy operation check. The I/O and alarm status may be read out through the RS-232C interface.
- Compact reliable special IC's and multi-layer boards are used for down-sizing and improved reliability of the driver unit.
- Various Options: Available in a wide selection of options such as driver units for Absolute Positioning type, EM Super Series with electronic cams, memory cards and single-axis NC control functions, etc.
